The TexARTS Professional Series wraps up the summer with The Great American Trailer Park Musical, country-rock and blues musical about agoraphobia, ’80s nostalgia, spray cheese, road kill, hysterical pregnancy, a broken electric chair, kleptomania, strippers, flan, and disco. The Great American Trailer Park Musical plays August 17 – September 1, 2018 at the Kam & James Morris Theatre in Lakeway. With music and lyrics by David Nehls, and book by the comedy writer and performer Betsy Kelso, this good-natured spoof of love and life in Florida’s Armadillo Acres trailer park is sure to give you a double-wide belly-laugh! There's a new tenant at Armadillo Acres, and she's wreaking havoc all over Florida's most exclusive trailer park. The double-wide divas of this fine housing establishment have survived everything from kidnapping to no-good men to bad perms! But when Pippi, a “stripper on the run,” comes between agoraphobic housewife Jeannie and her tollbooth collector husband, a storm begins to brew that will shake these manufactured homes right down to their foundations! The cast features Boni Hester, Julie Foster, Jarret Mallon, Cara Statham Serber, Alyssa Malgeri Sterns, Zach Thompson and Emily Villarreal. The same dynamic duo that brought you TexARTS’ The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas is back! Sarah Gay directs the show with Susan Finnigan as music director. Joining them will be Hannah Arguelles as choreographer. The creative team includes Kevin Squires (scenic design), Rachel Atkinson (light design), Andrew Twenter (sound design), Benjamin Taylor Ridgway (costume design) and Mary Cox (stage manager).
